An animal rescue organization is caring for a dog’s recovery after discovering him tethered to a church fence. The dog, thought to be a mix of boxer breed, weighed a mere 28 pounds when found outside a church in Fulton County, Georgia. Dogs of his age are typically twice that weight.
“Odysseus is presently following a specialized feeding plan to ensure he receives the necessary nutrients for his recovery. He’s eating remarkably well! Fortunately, he has tested negative for heartworms and various other diseases, which is excellent news! He remains significantly malnourished,” wrote Angels Among Us Pet Rescue on Facebook. “Although he has a challenging journey ahead, his future appears much brighter now!
“He is incredibly affectionate as well! He craves affection, evident in his sweet expression. Initially a bit shy when meeting new people, he warms up quickly with conversation.
His foster caregiver, Nicole, was captured hugging and doting on him at the veterinary hospital earlier today. She even received her first kiss from him!”
