Despite being born blind and deaf, Great Dane Echo’s life took a turn for the better when he was adopted by a loving family. His fortunes continued to improve with the arrival of baby Jennie, who quickly became Echo’s closest companion and playmate.
When Echo was just 12 weeks old, he was taken to a New York shelter, where his prospects were grim due to his blindness and deafness. However, Marion Dwyer fell in love with the oversized pup and took him home with her to upstate New York, giving him a new chance at life.
Marion’s pregnancy with Jennie brought another surprise for Echo, as soon as Jennie was born, Echo found a new best friend, and he followed her around and did his best to protect her. The two of them enjoy their daily walk together, with Jennie holding the leash, despite being much smaller than Echo. Even though Echo can’t see where he’s going, he knows that with his best friend by his side, he’s in good hands.
