One morning, as they were preparing for their workday, a video shared on Facebook captured the amusing sight of Jango reclining on the lawn in front of their home. Instead of eagerly jumping into their patrol car, he appeared perfectly content to sprawl on the lush grass.
In the video, Officer Costin can be seen attempting to coax Jango into the car, but the Belgian Malinois remained unresponsive. Realizing the need for support, Costin messaged his wife, Cassie, to apprise her of the situation and asked her to look out the window. Highly amused, she promptly recorded the hilarious scene with hesmartphone.
Cassie narrated the moment, empathizing with her husband’s predicament. Costin gestured towards the patrol car, persistently encouraging Jango to hop in. However, the dog displayed zero interest in relocating, prompting Cassie to humorously comment on the upcoming workweek.
As it turned out, Jango simply craved a little affection. Costin requested that he roll over and began to indulge him with belly rubs, a request that the eager dog joyfully accepted. In mere moments, Jango sprang up with enthusiasm and hopped into the awaiting vehicle.

Jango and Costin have a long history together, having functioned as a team since 2013. Typically, Jango would be the first to eagerly leap into the patrol car. However, on that particular day, he appeared to lag behind for reasons known only to him.
Perhaps he desired to relish the pleasant weather or simply craved some extra attention—precisely what was on his mind may forever remain a mystery. Fortunately, Costin, a perceptive handler, was able to discern Jango’s silent request.
