one-year-old dog, predominantly black and white in color, is in search of a loving forever home, having spent several months in an animal care shelter.
Meet Aries.
This mixed-breed canine currently resides at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care and Control shelter, located in Charlotte, North Carolina. Weighing in at 50 pounds, Aries bears the name of an astrological sign associated with boldness and ambition, hoping for someone equally bold to provide him with a fresh beginning.
Aries first arrived at the shelter in December 2022 and remains in pursuit of a permanent home. He boasts a range of skills, including sitting, lying down, and walking on a leash, as noted by the shelter.
Being a well-trained dog, Aries also excels in car rides, making him a great companion for on-the-go adventures. He is known for his compatibility with other dogs, demonstrating an ability to get along with various breeds, a quality praised by the shelter.
Aries has enhanced his social skills, both with familiar faces and strangers, and is currently undergoing training in commands such as “stay” and “come.” Additionally, he has been neutered and is under the care of a foster parent.
The Animal Care and Control shelter, a part of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, is committed to providing assistance to both pets and individuals through medical and support services, as outlined on the ACC’s website.
Spanning over 45,000 square feet, the shelter accommodates approximately 165 dog runs and 220 cages. With 165 dogs available for adoption, prospective pet owners have the opportunity to interact with them before making a decision.
In December 2022, the municipal shelter, which is funded by the local government, had reached its full capacity, caring for 219 animals in the shelter itself and an additional 147 in foster care.
