George, lovingly nicknamed ‘Giant George,’ is captured in scenic parks in Tuscon, Arizona, where he shares heartwarming moments with his owner, Dave Nasser. Despite his immense size, he even shares a couch with Dave. This gentle giant measures an astounding 7 feet 3 inches from nose to tail, making him a formidable contender for the title once held by Gibson, a harlequin Great Dane who sadly succumbed to cancer last August.
Awaiting confirmation from the Guinness World Records, George’s proud owners, David and Christine Nasser, eagerly anticipate his potential achievement. David states, “He stands at 42.625 inches at the shoulder—a truly exceptional feat.”
Remarkably, George consumes a staggering 110 pounds of food every month and enjoys solitary slumber on his queen-sized bed. Raised by David and Christine since he was just 7 weeks old, they could never have foreseen his remarkable growth.
However, the journey to this record-breaking size has not been without its challenges. George’s proportions have presented fitting issues—he barely fits within the confines of his owners’ SUV, and he has outgrown his space on their king-sized bed, necessitating his own accommodations.
Dr. William Wallace of the Buena Pet Clinic in Tucson, who facilitated the necessary documentation for the Guinness record, affirms, “In my 45 years of experience working with giant breed dogs, without a doubt, George is the tallest dog I have ever seen.”
