Storm, a golden retriever, was out for his morning walk with owner Mark Freeley in Long Island Sound. The duo came across a fawn who was drowning while he was going away in the water, because of  wind gusts and stormy weather conditions that made it too dangerous to get close enough, and traditional care would not be able to help this poor animal, so Storm took matters into his own paws! He gently picked up the baby deer by neck before pulling her safely onto land where she could rest while he stayed guard over them both until Long island’s Animal Rescue League arrived.

Suddenly, the fawn gets scared and runs back into the water. Mark and Frank Florida from Strong Island Animal Rescue League are determined not to let this little mite fall victim again, so they jump in ready for an extreme rescue mission! Storm anxiously watched as Mark and Frank tried to save the baby deer. Eight minutes later, They were able to rescue the fawn with their rope rescue tactics!

Panicking, the fawn was taken to a rescue center. She is now resting after her ordeal and being treated for ticks as well an injury on one eye but it looks like she will make full recovery thanks to the storm’s speedy reactions!
