Hope For Paws is an organization dedicated to rescuing dogs in need, and they go to great lengths to save each and every one of them. One such dog was Dennis, who had been abandoned on a bridge and left for dead. Luckily, a kind-hearted skateboarder named Gabriel Sepulveda spotted him and immediately called Hope For Paws for help.
Eldad Hagar, the founder of the organization, recounted the rescue mission in a post on their website. He and Lisa Chiarelli, another rescuer, drove for two hours to reach Dennis’s location, and what they found was truly appalling. The poor dog was lying on the ground, covered in ticks and unable to move.
Without hesitation, they rushed Dennis to the hospital and began cleaning him up. But his condition was much worse than they initially thought. Dennis was suffering from severe anemia and needed a blood transfusion. Lisa’s dog, Lola, was quickly brought in to donate blood in an effort to save Dennis’s life.
Over the next five days, Dennis was seen by multiple specialists, including neurologists, cardiologists, and internal medicine experts. But despite their best efforts, Dennis’s body was too weak, and he passed away soon after.
Eldad reminds us that not all rescue missions have a happy ending, and Dennis’s case is a tragic example of that. Neglected and abandoned for too long, Dennis’s fate was sealed long before he was finally rescued. But his story serves as a reminder that we must speak up and take action when we see animals in need. We must be their voice when they cannot speak for themselves.
In memory of Dennis, please share this story and spread the word about the importance of animal welfare. And if you see an animal in need, do not hesitate to reach out for help. Together, we can make a difference.
