It’s difficult to understand that there are individuals in the world who would drive by a struggling dog without stopping to aid them.
This poor dog must have gone days and even weeks in his lonely search for food and water. After getting sicker and weaker, he finally found a place under a car where he could give up and d.i.e.
However, no one noticed him, maybe they were in a hurry, or maybe they just didn’t care; no matter what the reason, it’s incredibly inspiring to realize that someone finally did something and called the proper authorities.
Fortunately, the rescuers showed up. When they arrived at the scene, they thought they were too late: The poor little puppy was covered in flies, which had begun feasting on his body. Suddenly, though, they noticed the pup still had some fight left in him!
His body was trembling, but upon closer inspection, it became clear to the doctor and vets that his heart was still beating — he was still very much alive! It took a lot of close calls, and a lot of work, and just a little bit of luck, but eventually this unnamed puppy began to show signs of better health.
In the end, they named the dog Oliver, and when you see his transformation, you’ll swear you’re looking at an entirely different puppy!
He still needs to gain a bit more weight before he’s totally back to normal, but thank goodness for the amazing people out there who did stop to help this little angel so that one day he could find a forever home that would love him and give him the time and respect all of these beautiful creatures deserve!
